Your Customers WANT to Love Your Cafe – Here’s How to Help Them

Posted on May 30, 2018 by Ash Bennett

Whenever a customers steps foot into your cafe, they want to be impressed by WHAT you do, and HOW you do it.

Sure, they want to SEE that you’re running a fine food establishment.

They want to HEAR the sound of a busy cafe filled with all the noise of piping jets of hot steam from your coffee machine and the delicate clanger of freshly cooked meals being served to happy foodies.

But your customers also want to FEEL the pride that you have in your work. This important sensory experience or ‘gut feeling’ which will dictate the volume of your repeat business is best embodied in a tangible little item that leaves your cafe on a daily basis–and that’s your packaging.

If you’re reading this article, then you probably know that packaging isn’t just about the transportation of food. And to be honest, it’s not even a branding exercise in order to get more customers.

Packaging is one of the cheapest ways that cafe owners can build a loyal base of REPEAT CUSTOMERS, which are crucial for any local cafe simply because acquiring NEW customers is just so expensive.

So if you want to fulfill your potential as an innovative cafe owner, now is the time to think about how you could convey a meaningful message to your customers via the use of quality packaging that’s both affordable and easy to order.

For instance:

  • If you’re serving freshly-made baked goods–are you using a windowed bakery box so that your customers can enjoy your product even before they’ve taken their first bite?

  • Do you make lunchtime baguettes for people to take back to work? Then keep your customer’s lunch nice and fresh with specially made baguettes bags, which will maintain the luxurious softness of the bread that you use.

Don’t forget, you’ll also need high-quality packaging for the high-quality drinks that you serve to your customers. This is important because the temperature of a drink can change a lot between the time that you’re making the drink and the time that the customer actually drinks it.

Or to put it simply, you will have very happy customers if:

  • Your hot drinks remain hot;
  • Your cold drinks remain cold.

If you’re serving warm drinks, invest in either ripple-wrapped coffee cups or double-walled cups.

As for your cold beverages, impress your customers by serving these drinks in crystal clear plastic cups that are sturdy enough to withstand the swirling of big ice cubes that are used in fruit-based smoothies.

As a reputable cafe owner, you’re more than entitled to work with a packaging retailer who understands the multi-faceted nature of your business. Therefore, once you’ve found a packaging retailer who has taken the time to reach out to busy cafe owners such as yourself, give them a call or send them an email and tell what you need, and when you need it by!

Invest in some quality packaging, and see the smiles of your customers as they come back to your cafe again, and again, and again.
